Chapter 7:EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS LESSON OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the lesson, the student will be able to: • Explain what is meant by the acronym C-R-E-A-T-E with respect to education in the classroom. • Identify the various components of powerful presentations. • Explain the 10 methods used for inspiring learner motivation. • List 10 elements important to powerful openings. • Explain the purpose of closing all presentations with impact. • List five methods used to strengthen the body or major content of a lesson. • List six effective methods used to facilitate transitions. • State five methods for varying the stimuli within a lesson. • Explain the difference between low-order and high-order questions. • Explain why reinforcement during a lesson is important. Chapter 8:EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION LESSON OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the lesson, the student will be able to: • Explain low-profile and direct, high-profile control techniques that are used in dealing with learner misconduct. • Explain specific techniques used in remedying misconduct. • Explain the difference between a situational barrier to learning and a chronic barrier to learning. • Describe various difficult learner behaviors and explain methods for managing them. • List and explain four enemies of conflict management. |

Learning Objective: 3 pts Pre-requisites: 3 pts Tools and Material: Instructor: 5 pts Student: 5 pts. References: 2 pts Outline: 80 points Technical Rating Criteria: 4 pts each Please Note: Make sure you incorporate all of the required information in your outline as the information is listed in the Candidate Information Bulletin. (PSI exam packet). Instructor Training Practical/Theory Requirements: Practical lab experience prepares you for the teaching profession. The following are the requirements for both practical and theory. Every student MUST have a copy of the required textbooks by the second week of class. The student will still be responsible for any assignments given. Students are responsible for completing all assigned reading assignments. Read over chapters PRIOR to class. ? Class participation is required. It is important to be active within the course. ? Assignments: All assignments must be submitted on the scheduled time (Online & Face to Face). Any assignments emailed after the scheduled time will receive a late penalty of -30 points. ? Assignments, Exams and due dates will be posted on Blackboard. Check your notifications, announcements and email daily. ? Please contact your instructor if you are having problems with the class, material, or internet. ? Exams: Make-up exams will NOT be given. All exams must be taken on the day that it is assigned and within the time frame listed. Please see your instructor before the scheduled exam if there is a problem. ? Students are responsible for all materials covered in class. If you quit coming to class and do not officially withdraw, your grades will be averaged, and you will receive the grade represented by this average. Attendance Policy |
ATTENDANCE POLICY "All Students Must Sign Into Blackboard Daily" Regular class attendance is important to the attainment of the educational objectives of the college. The cosmetology program has formulated an attendance policy that is consistent with the objectives of the program and the needs of the student to fulfill all necessary requirements needed. Poor attendance is a leading reason for termination from a job in all areas of employment. With this factor in mind, the instructor monitors student course activity daily. Every student will be assigned a code to use for clocking during in person instruction. Please Note, the time clock is used for attendance only, To fulfill the TDLR requirements, students must be in attendance to receive credit, any days missed must be made up. See instructor for details. Attendance is 10% of your overall grade, and will be monitored daily. (Online & Face to Face) |
